The very first meeting of Creative Club took place on Thursday 12th January 2017. This is an exciting new initiative aimed at 1st and 2nd year students who wish socialise, relax, engage in team-building activities and make new friends in a warm and inviting setting.
The Resource Room was transformed into a vibrant and colourful space for the gathering. Tables were decorated with positive affirmations and sparkly decorations to remind students that they are cared for in Rosmini Community School and that they can feel safe and supported in this space.
Tables also featured with memory games, playing cards, clay, putty and other bits & bobs. This space allows students to interact with one another over a game. A conversation at break can be a daunting experience at times. Creative Club, therefore, allows students present to participate in fun and stimulating activities with each other.
Creative Club runs every Thursday and Friday lunchtime in the Resource Cabin.
Rosmini is delighted to be involved in the DCU UniTY programme. UniTY is a skills based programme specifically aimed at Transition Year students. It has been designed to increase student engagement in education and raise motivation and career aspirations and broaden students' world view. The curriculum is made up of Multimedia & Social Innovation, Smart Skills, Employability & Leadership and Student Empowerment. Other classes benefit through Maths quizzes, "Junior Discover" pathways to third level, DCU "Summer Scholars" programme, rugby and soccer blitzes.
