Feb 9th - Feb 13th is Engineering Week; this is a week packed full of activities for students to educate them on Engineering within Ireland and as a potential career. Mr Mc Namara has organised a "Design a School Chair" competition for 1st, 2nd & 3rd Years. 1st & 2nd years will take part in an Engineering Quiz. Mr Mc Namara will also give talks & presentations to these students. Mr Kierán Cox, who represents the NSAI will talk to 3rd year students about Engineering and promote the work of the National Standards Association of Ireland. Mr Cathal Masterson, who represents the NRA will talk to 5th & 6th years and promote the work of the National Roads Authority. This week will be packed full of information, fun and a few facts that will promote Engineering.
Rosmini is delighted to be involved in the DCU UniTY programme. UniTY is a skills based programme specifically aimed at Transition Year students. It has been designed to increase student engagement in education and raise motivation and career aspirations and broaden students' world view. The curriculum is made up of Multimedia & Social Innovation, Smart Skills, Employability & Leadership and Student Empowerment. Other classes benefit through Maths quizzes, "Junior Discover" pathways to third level, DCU "Summer Scholars" programme, rugby and soccer blitzes.
