On Tuesday, 30th November, Rosmini played Sutton Park in the semi-final of the U16 Basketball League. We are having a great season so far having defeated Fingall CC, Ardgillan CC, Trinity Comprehensive and Salesian College, Celbridge. We had an excellent start to this game with early scores from Ethan Hackett Kissane [captain] and JJ Jimenez. Defensively we were very strong and kept Sutton Park scoreless until the end of the first quarter. Some poor shooting and lack of concentration in the second quarter allowed them back into the game.
In the second half a well-disciplined defensive display along with scores from Gareth Breslin and Luca Maul put some distance between the teams. Cian Coleman and Gareth Breslin put some lovely passing movements together to secure some vital baskets. Jamie Murphy came on as substitute and gave a further example of his improvement. Rosmini won the game 29 points to 13.
Well done to the entire squad. We are so proud of you all. It is a great achievement to reach the final.
The panel also includes: Cormac O'Toole, Fionn Mc Kenna, Nick Hodirnau, Bhargav Panicher, Sam Diallo, Aaron Keogh, Robert Talbot and Joe Magill.
