Dublin City University UniTY Programme

Rosmini is delighted to be involved in the DCU UniTY programme. UniTY is a skills based programme specifically aimed at Transition Year students. It has been designed to increase student engagement in education and raise motivation and career aspirations and broaden students' world view. The curriculum is made up of Multimedia & Social Innovation, Smart Skills, Employability & Leadership and Student Empowerment. Other classes benefit through Maths quizzes, "Junior Discover" pathways to third level, DCU "Summer Scholars" programme, rugby and soccer blitzes. New School Building Granted Planning Permission

Rosmini Community School is delighted to announce that our proposed new school building has received planning permission. NMA Architects have provided an architectural rendering of our new school building. This image shows the view from the exit on Gracepark Road. These are exciting times for all in Rosmini and we look forward to moving into this wonderful new facility in the not so distant future.

President Higgins visits Rosmini

President Higgin's visit to Rosmini was a truly memorable experience for all on campus. Here the president is photographed with principal, Ms Cherry, former deputy principal, Ms Bourke and the Rosmini Student Council organised by Ms Dunphy. During his visit the president said "this is not just a school it is also a real community, a place that doesn't simply value a pupil by how well they do at their lessons but also by how hard they work, by how well they treat each other and of course by how much use they make of all of the individual talents they have been given

Facilities in Rosmini

The image shows just one of our well-used subject areas from our original building. Our current temporary accommodation has a number of specialist rooms including science, art, music, ICT, woodwork & metalwork, VI resource and learning support. We are grateful to All Hallows College (now a part of Dublin City University) who are sharing their wonderful campus with us. We look forward to our new building scheduled to open in 2018 complete with state of the art facilities including sports hall.

Bernard Brogan brings the Sam Maguire cup to Rosmini

Bernard Brogan brings the Sam Maguire cup to Rosmini in 2013. As a school with a proud GAA tradition, this was a marvellous occasion for Rosmini. Staff and students alike thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon of craic and stories from a Dublin legend. Sam, incredibly, eluded the Dubs in 2014 but we are very proud at his return to the capital in 2015, 2016 and again in 2017! Well done to the management team and to Bernard and the entire playing squad following an incredible '3 in a row'.

5S Visit Croke Park

Our Leaving Certificate Applied class, Ms.Campion (teacher) and Richard (SNA) went on a guided tour of Croke Park,
and visited the G.A.A. Museum on Tuesday, 2nd May, as part of an assignment in their Irish course.

Seachtain na Gaeilge‏ - Events

The school took part in Lá Glas Dé hAoine 13ú Márta - students wore green and spoke ‘as Gaeilge.’Special mention to those who do not have Gaeilge but took part. Students who used Gaeilge on the day were given a raffle ticket . The winner was Sonia Moore. In the Canteen at break and lunch Aisling Coombes, Yasemin Guven agus Jade Donnery quizzed students on their knowledge of ‘Teasc Gaeilge’ - Correct answers got spot prizes During the week:

Gaeilge 24

18 students are taking part in Gaeilge 24 on 13th November. It's a national event taking place where students talk As Gaeilge all day. Watch out for the yellow t-shirts. More information is available here!
