Donal held qualifications in Theology, Philosophy and Special Education for children with Visual Impairment, Guidance Counselling, Educational Leadership and Leadership and Management.

Donal also taught mainstream classes in Religion, Social Education, and Careers Guidance He was a talented musician, providing a music lunchtime club for students in addition to various table tennis coaching and the organisation of European Educational tours for students.

He was very involved in providing extracurricular activities during his time in Rosmini and coordinated the schools business partnership with the ESB, which involved student mentoring and world of work programmes.

Donal worked for many years with the State Examinations commission and more recently had been appointed to the position of Associate with the National Council for Special Education.

Committed to lifelong learning, Donal was Director of the extensive and successful Adult Education Programme which ran at Rosmini from 2004-2014 and was staff representative on the school’s Board of Management during his time at Rosmini.
